A small relaunch, on bonuses and economic details, and then the deal that will lead to Bologna Juan Pablo Freytes can be said to be essentially sealed: a hot New Year for the rossoblù defense, which could soon welcome the first news of the winter session with the arrival of the Argentine central defender from Fluminense, who will turn 26 on January 11th.
Progress in the negotiation
After the first official rossoblù proposal of 5 million euros, rejected by the Tricolor club, the parties have become closer in the last few hours: a step here, a refinement there (as often happens when dealing with Giovanni Sartori and South American clubs, let alone if they are both at the same table) and now there is a need for a final relaunch of Bologna to reach checkers and be able to give Vincenzo Italiano the new defender who stood out in the last Club World Cup.
Bonuses and the agreement between companies
We are working on the bonuses and on the structure of the agreement between the companies (everything is already done with the player), with a difference between the parties that would have fallen below one million between total supply and demand: theFluminense tries to get the most out of this transfer because they will have to give 30% of the sum to the Peruvians Alianza Limafrom whom they had purchased the defender at the beginning of 2025. The approach for Freytes, who however needs a final decisive push towards the requests of the Carioca club, distances the other great target that Bologna had identified for its defense: Fedde Leysen of Union St. Gilloise.
A distance that had already emerged in the last few hours due to two main factors: the high demands of the Belgian club, around 15 million, and the decidedly long timescales, given that the team is fighting for a place in the top 24 in the Champions League and would hardly be deprived of its 22-year-old defensive cornerstone before the European verdicts arriving at the end of the month.
Amorim’s name for the midfield
Meanwhile there is a new name for the midfield, a department in which Bologna remains on the lookout to understand the physical evolutions of Freuler and Ferguson, given that Sulemana has so far remained off the radar: the rossoblù are among the clubs that follow Alex Amorim, born in 2005 who plays for Alverca in Portugal. Brazilian from Fortaleza, he has a price of around 6 million and in addition to the big Portuguese players, Sporting and Benfica in the lead, he has ended up in the sights of Milan, the City Group and the always attentive scouts that Casteldebole sends around the world. In the background there are also issues related to the winger’s attack: Santino Andino, born in 2005, is liked – and very much – by the Argentinian from Godoy Cruz who seemed one step away from River Plate before changing agency and looking towards Europe with more interest. The Buenos Aires club could now divert its attention to the rossoblù Benjamin Dominguez.
The last training of 2025
Meanwhile, on Tuesday (30 December) the team returned to training in Casteldebole to prepare for the hot week that awaits him, with Inter, Atalanta and Como: today the 2025 of the rossoblù will end with a friendly match scheduled at Galli at 11 against Lentigione, a Serie D team. The special observer, by Vincenzo Italiano’s own admission after Sassuolo, will be Ciro Immobile: the former Lazio captain needs to get minutes in his legs and this match has been organized especially for him, on the eve of a month of January in which there will be almost more official matches than training sessions.
