The Spezia transfer market opens with the arrival of a new goalkeeper: Boris Radunovic. Serbian, twenty-nine years old (thirty next May), Radunovic leaves Cagliari of which he had been the starting goalkeeper in the year of their promotion to Serie A and returns to the academy, where in his career he played 152 times with the shirts of Avellino, Cremonese, Cagliari and Bari, with whom he played last season. A response was expected today from the Sardinian club, which gave its green light for the loan transfer with right of redemption.
Donadoni thus has the new goalkeeping roster complete, at a deficit following the injury of Fallou Sarr, whose season ended a month ago. With Loria continuing in the role of third, it will be the Serbian and the La Spezia Mascardi who will play for the role of number one of the team, who as in last January returns to open a ballot for the role of starting goalkeeper.
In Italy since 2015, purchased from Atalanta, Radunovic is a veteran of the category. Over 150 appearances in the championship and play-offs, of which he was the absolute protagonist three seasons ago, wearing the Cagliari shirt. In the first leg final against Bari, the goalkeeper managed to hypnotize Cheddira from the spot, saving a penalty that was then decisive in the two matches. However, he was less lucky in Serie A, where he had few chances between Atalanta, Verona and Cagliari, with whom he had lost his starting place to former La Spezia player Simone Scuffet.
Radunovic has not been on the field since May 13th, the last match of the last Serie B championship, curiously against the Sudtirol team he will find as his first opponent in his adventure at Spezia. Medical visits are scheduled for the next few days, with signature on the contract. Spezia closes the first coup of a January that promises to be quite eventful, defining the goalkeeping battery.
