Since the nineties, straight to 2026. Rovigo’s New Year’s Eve is making everyone dance to the rhythm of the most beautiful songs of the last decade of the last century, thanks to Rewind 90: a now tried and tested format which, even on this very special night, was able to fill the square and attract hundreds of young and old, who decided to spend it in company, in the heart of Rovigo, the most awaited midnight of the year.
The big New Year’s Eve party in the square began around 9pm, when the square started to fill up: first with the venues all around, then also on the liston. A party that also experienced an “anticipation” in Piazza Matteotti, with the music of Sismica which warmed up the atmosphere of the “Aperighiaccio”, all around the ice rink. Then, everyone in Piazza Vittorio where all the energy and vitality of Rewind exploded on stage: an event that aims to unite different generations through the music that has made history.
What was proposed, through the songs, was a real one sound journey among the great successes of the past, from the 70s, 80s and 90s up to the early 2000s, which allowed those present to relive emotions, memories and dance together under the end-of-year sky.
All of it, until the fateful moment countdown that accompanied everyone to the finish line of the new year. Then, as per tradition, the mayor Valeria Cittadin spoke on stage who brought everyone his best wishes for the new year: “I wish you all an amazing 2026, because in Rovigo we deserve it“, he said. And the deputy mayor Andrea Bimbatti said: “This is the city we want, full of people and full of life. And if someone criticizes us, we have even more fun.”
The party took place in complete safety. In the square, the local police and other law enforcement agencies were present, who ensured that everything went smoothly. High attention also paid to compliance with the ordinances issued in recent days by the mayor: the one to ban the consumption of alcoholic beverages in glass bottles in the party area, and the one that bans the explosion of barrels and firecrackers in the central areas of the city.
