Prices, excise taxes on diesel rise from January and electricity bills for vulnerable people fall

In particular, from 1 January 2026 it will be 27.97 euro cents per kilowatt hourcup included, the reference price of electricity for the ‘typical customer’ (with consumption of 2,000 kWh per year and committed power of 3kW) vulnerable (who has at least one of the following conditions: over 75 years old, recipient of a social bonus, disabled person, resident in an emergency housing module or non-interconnected smaller island, user of life-saving equipment) served under Greater Protection. There spending on energy will be 13.75 euro cents (49.2% of the total bill) for energy supply costs, down 3.5% compared to the fourth quarter of 2025; 2.24 cents euros (8% of the total bill) for the marketing retail, unchanged from fourth quarter 2025. Spending on transport and the management of the counter will be of 6.18 cents euros (22.1% of the total bill) for distribution, metering, transport, transmission equalization and distribution services, down by 1.6% compared to the fourth quarter of 2025. Spending for system charges will be of 3.03 cents (10.8% of the total bill) down by 3.3% compared to the fourth quarter of 2025. The taxes they will be 2.77 cents (9.9% of the total bill) and include VAT and excise duties, down by 2.5% compared to the fourth quarter of 2025. General system charges in the first quarter of 2026 include the Asos tariff component in support of renewable energy which accounts for 94.59% of the general costs (69.34% for incentives for renewable sources and 25.25% for incentives for companies with high electricity consumption). There Arim componentto cover the remaining general costs, weighs in total at 5.41% of the general costs and is divided into 0.66% for the promotion of energy efficiency (only in relation to measures for technological and industrial development) and 4.75% for the special tariff regimes for the universal rail and freight service.
