A lifeless body was found in the early afternoon of today, July 2, in the area of Ciano del Montello, stranded on an islet on the Piave. In all likelihood it would be Alex Marangon, the 26-year-old bartender from Marcon who disappeared during the night between Saturday and Sunday while he was attending a party at the Abbey of Santa Bona, in Vidor.

The young man had left, according to the participants of the event, around 3 in the morning and his tracks were lost. The search saw the mobilization of at least forty men from the fire brigade, civil protection, carabinieri and mountain rescue.
marangon had left his wallet and keys in the car while the smartphone was found in the bedroom where he was supposed to spend the night. Yesterday, July 1, his mother had launched an appeal for searches, hoping it was a simple case of him wandering off. Alex was already dead, perhaps accidentally falling into the waters of the Piave, dragged away by the current and drowned, in one of the most dangerous points of the Treviso waterway. Alex was 25 years old and would have celebrated his 26th birthday on November 27. Now the Treviso Public Prosecutor’s Office will evaluate whether or not to perform an autopsy on the body, before returning it to the family.
