Why does it shock us that Harry Styles is walking the streets like us?

Harry StylesIt’s incredible but true, stars are real people just like us and they live in cities just like we do. Regardless of the fact that some cities in the world are more accustomed than others to seeing stars wandering around the streets, it’s still a bit funny that the presence of Harry Styles in our country is arousing so much curiosity, especially considering that Styles is not frequenting exclusive locations but very common destinations such as the stalls of the Porta Portese market in Rome and the Orbetello Coop. What’s so extraordinary about these sightings, though? Absolutely nothing, except that Harry Styles is an artist with millions of followers and millions in his bank account who behaves, oh dear, like a normal citizen.

Yet, from his smallest gestures, the Italian newspapers seem on the one hand intrigued and on the other shocked: but why? It is likely that the short circuit is linked to that aura of internationality towards which we have always shown a certain veneration.: what works and bewitches abroad is perceived here as an irrevocable miracle that needs to be paid tribute as it deserves. Harry Styles is, yes, a star who sings and acts, but also a 30 year old English boy who, beyond the privileges he might enjoy, seems intent like many of his colleagues – let’s think of Keanu Reaves – a don’t give up on contact with reality which has cost many Hollywood stars dearly, so alienated from their surroundings that they ended up sucked into low-level scandals.

However, we don’t think it’s worth getting too scandalised.: instead of being honored that Harry Styles has chosen to move to Italy for a while – It seems he bought a house in Civita di Bagnoregio, near Viterbo -, maybe the best thing to do would be to stop being amazed that Harry is a person like us and just try to talk to him and be amazed by how well he knows how to use the subjunctivebringing home an anecdote to tell that is much more interesting than a video filmed in secret and posted on TikTokviolating the privacy of a well-known person, among other things.
