The sun of the future is the new movie of Nanni Moretti which will be in the cinema on April 20, 2023 distributed by 01 Distribution. An Italy-France production that tells a story set between the 1950s and 1970s circus world. In the cast of the film we find Margherita Buy, Barbara Bobulova, Silvio Orlando, Mathieu Amalric, Elena Lietti, Flavio Furno, Benjamin Stender. The sun of the future is the 14th film by the Italian actor and director billed as a comedy, although given his previous works one can imagine that there is always some bittersweet note in the script.

It is assumed that The sun of the future can be in competition at the Cannes Film Festival 2023, even if it will be released in Italian theaters earlier, at the end of April. The screenplay is signed by Francesca Marciano, Federica Pontremoli and Valia Santella, but the official plot has not yet been disclosed. However from the few words of some of the cast involved this would be a “subversive” film, “a love film” and a “slow burner”.
