What do we know about the plot of Gladiator 2? After the publication of the first official photos of Gladiator 2, released exclusively by Vanity Fair, we try to take stock of the film’s plot.
According to reports from those who attended the official presentations of Ridley Scott’s highly anticipated sequel organized by Paramount during their panels at the CinemaCon events last April and CineEurope last June, in Gladiator 2 the protagonist will be Paul Mescalwho will play a Roman nobleman seeking revenge after the murder of his family: to track down the culprit he will agree to take part in the gladiatorial games organized at the Colosseum, which are managed by the character of Denzel Washington Described as ‘A Puppet Master’.
In addition to Paul Mescal and two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington, there will also be many other big names: for example the star of Stranger Things and The Fantastic 4 Joseph Quinn to Play Emperor Caracallaknown for his cruelty and violence, while Pedro Pascal will be a new gladiator mentor to the protagonist who once served under the command of Maximus Decimus Meridius; additional newcomers include Marvel Cinematic Universe star May Calamawy (Moon Knight), Lior Raz, Peter Mensah and Matt Lucas, while Connie Nielsen and Derek Giacobi will return from the first film respectively in the roles of Lucilla, Commodus’ older sister, and Senator Cracco, Maximus’ ally.
