Waiting for official confirmation on the development of Thor 5in recent weeks he has been the director and screenwriter Taika Waititi to break the silence on the alleged fifth solo adventure of the God of Thunder in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

After directing Thor: Ragnarok in 2017 and Thor: Love and Thunder of 2022, the New Zealand filmmaker recently stated that he will not be involved in the making of the new film in any way, however in an interview released in the last few hours he revealed a detail that is anything but secondary.

According to Waititi, Chris Hemsworth and Marvel Studios would in fact be in negotiations to reprise the role in Thor 5, which – remember – has not yet been officially announced. Although there were very few doubts among fans about the return of the God of Thunder to the MCU, there were many who wondered whether the Australian star would reprise the role in a fifth solo film of the character or whether we would see him again in the highly anticipated Avengers: The Kang Dynasty And Avengers: Secret Wars.

However, the backstory revealed by Waititi seems to be a further step towards confirmation Thor 5 in the near future of Marvel Studios. The director for his part also spoke about his expectations for the next adventure of the God of Thunder and the narrative direction that this should take:

«What’s left for him to do? A story must be found that takes thecharacter evolution, but still in a very fun way and still putting him in front of obstacles that he will have to somehow overcome. I don’t think we should come up with a weaker villain than Hela. I feel like we should take it a step further and add a villain who is somewhat even more formidable.»

Waititi then explained how, for his part, he would never stop introducing characters and aliens into Thor’s adventures increasingly extravagant:

«There’s an element of fun to Thor and there’s a randomness and a kind of bravado in him when he visits these worlds and meets these aliens. That’s something I don’t think we could get when it comes to an Earth-based journey through space to explore the universe

What do you think? Would you like to see a new solo adventure of the God of Thunder from the MCU? Let us know in the comments!
