Maxi telephone antenna appears after the green light from the TAR

After the green light given by the Campania Regional Administrative Court, work restarts on the installation of an Illiad antenna in via Pietro Mascagni, in the Centurano district of Caserta.

On 14 April 2023, Illiad asks Palazzo Castropignano to be able to install its own antenna in via Mascagni in Caserta. In June the Authority requests some additional preliminary investigations but the telephone company’s observations are not followed by an express denial, until October when the Municipality warns Illiad from starting the works. In this way, the organisation’s silent consent was formed, with the TAR canceling the warning in January.

In February the work stopped again, with an automatic cancellation in self-protection of the communication of the start of activity and the consequent suspension. Act challenged again before the administrative judges who, two weeks ago, accepted the appeal and canceled the Municipality’s provision. Work began today, with the antenna making its appearance in the neighborhood to the anger of residents who live a few meters from the device (there is also a school less than 100 meters away).

The local municipal councilor, Gianluca Iannucci, announces: “I will work from now on to ensure that the Municipality challenges the TAR’s decision before the Council of State – he explains – In the meantime I am in contact with the associations and the parish priest to start moments of public debate and awareness with a collection of signatures that will be launched in the next few days”, he concludes.
