Still scared in the neighborhood area via Carmine, in the center of Salerno, where after yet another burglary in a home, residents continue to feel unsafe and are clamoring for protection and greater checks during weekends and in the darkest hours. The episode occurred on Saturday evening in via Pio XI, when some house mice reached the house of a couple by car, then reached the entrance from the balcony (breaking the window frames) and taking advantage of the absence of the two they stole everything they found before their eyes, valuable objects and jewels included, together with an engagement ring with great sentimental value which prompted the couple to then make an appeal to find it.
The thieves, with a foreign accent – according to some testimonies collected yesterday – appear to have also attempted a second theft, which was later foiled by the presence of the owners in the house. And it was the latter who alerted the police (particularly the police) who then arrived on site and started investigations into the case to trace the identity of the thieves. It is not the first time that the neighborhood has been targeted by criminals. Many episodes of house thefts and especially car thefts are keeping residents of the area, including those of, in suspense via Valerio Laspro who – in recent weeks – have also met in a committee to address the problem and to understand what to do between appeals and the search for effective solutions to protect especially elderly and lonely people.
