Piacenza tourism growing in the first quarter of 2024. Presences recorded a +6.8% compared to last year, while overnight stays grew by +2.9%.
These are the data, still provisional, processed by the Emilia-Romagna Region, from which the general good state of health of tourism can be deduced.
REGIONAL DATA
The presence of Italian and foreign tourists grew in Emilia-Romagna in the first three months of the current year: +9.9% compared to 2023 (+11.9% compared to 2019), and arrivals +9.3% compared to compared to last year (+5.4% on 2019).
Foreign tourists continue to increase, +15.5%, with an increase of 13.3% compared to 2023 (+15.9% compared to 2019).
In percentage, the cities of art and business, driven by tourist destinations, weigh on the regional tourist movement with 43.6% of presences and 47.6% of total arrivals, followed by the Riviera (31.8% of presences and 27.9% of arrivals).
PIACENZA DATA
With over 25 thousand visitors, Piacenza sees an 11% increase in tourists in the city, with a preponderance of Italians compared to foreigners. Lower trend for overnight stays, at 8.4%, also in this case with a strong incidence of national origins.
Hilly locations and the Apennines
The best positive trend is recorded by the locations of the Apennines, both regionally and provincially, where tourists increased by 33% and overnight stays by 9.4%.
Still on the subject of overnight stays, the exploit comes from Castell’Arquato (+89.3%) followed by Bobbio (+34.9%), while the highest increases in presences were recorded in Castel San Giovanni (+29.3 %) and Piacenza (+10.9%).
STAY BACK CASTELVETRO
Drastic decline however for Castelvetro, where presences fell by 20.8% and overnight stays by 40.8%.
