Public opinion began to change in the 1960s with the rise of feminism and a different moral approach. Following a campaign by the Radicals, a referendum was proposed to repeal the prohibitive laws, but it did not materialize. The Constitutional Court in 1975 legitimized abortion for serious health reasons.
