Last Sunday the second match of the provincial phase of the Second and Third Category Piedmont Cup was played.
In group A, a goal from Casale Corte Cerro who overwhelms the unfortunate Armenian with a peremptory 5-0 (a brace from Laminù, a goal from Bossi, Mora and Petrulli). Thanks to this result, a draw in the last round at Cireggio will be enough for Casale to go through, as the Omegnesi team “only” won 2-1 against Armenian.
An interesting preview of the first day of the championship took place in Fondotoce for group B, between the hosts and Fomarco. The team from Pieve comes back from 0-2 to 2-2 and guarantees passage to the next round: to go through, the Verbanese team will have to beat Voluntas Suna with a difference of more than 4 goals in the last round.
In group C, the spotlight will be on the long-awaited derby between Crevolese and Pregliese, an absolute novelty in official matches. Crowds on special occasions and full stands at the Comunale, an enjoyable match which however ended in a 0-0 draw which was perhaps closer to the yellow-greens from Preglia.
Thus Mattia Tanzarella, manager of Pregliese, at the end of the match: “We had control of the game for almost the entire match. In the first half we had two clear scoring opportunities with Brunetti’s crossbar and Peretti’s save on Martinetti, while they only appeared in Imperiale’s area once. Also in the second half we got a cross from a free kick from Zanetti and their goalkeeper was miraculous on Brunetti. However, we are very satisfied, excellent performance by the boys against a superior category opponent.”
Pregliese already eliminated, Crevolese will have to beat Pro Vigezzo in the next match to go through, given the 2-0 success of the rossoblù against the yellow-green on the first day.
The third and final day of the groups is scheduled for Wednesday 27 September at 8.30 pm.
