“I have the pleasure of announcing that tomorrow, Wednesday 20 September, on the occasion of the recent start of the school yearthe Minister of Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditara it will be in Calabria, in the province of Reggio, with stops respectively in the Municipalities of San Luca, Platì and Bovalino”. This was communicated, in agreement with the relevant Mayors Bruno Bartolo, Rosario Sergi and Vincenzo Maesano, by Giusi Princi, Vice President of the Regional Council, with responsibility for Education. Minister Valditara will first visit the Municipality of Saint Luke, at 10 am, at the San Giuseppe complex; followed, at 12 pm, by the Municipality of Platì, at the “Edmondo De Amicis” comprehensive institute; finally, the Municipality of Bovalinoat the “Mario La Cava” comprehensive institute, at 1 pm.
“The presence of the Minister in these territories – highlights Giusi Princi – takes on significant social relevance, as it is linked to the broader prevention and redemption project of Calabria implemented with President Roberto Occhiuto since the beginning of our mandate. At the same time, it is combined with the educational pact that was signed between the Prefecture, Region, USR and Mayors of the territories of the reference area and which sees the joint planning of medium and long-term actions to stem the profound evils that afflict these places: school dropout, educational poverty, socio-economic and cultural disadvantage. Through an important interinstitutional synergy – remarks the Vice President of the Region – in fact, a network of a programmatic nature has been put in place, also operational with respect to the guidelines, to best finalize the regional resources in these areas and whose objective becomes precisely that of starting from the school, a fundamental social lift and bastion of legality, as well as than of education.”
