Rome- It’s Tuscany lead the ranking of the most booked destinations for the grape harvest perioda: with San Gimignano, Montepulciano and Greve di Chianti in the top places. This was announced by Airbnb which reveals the latest data on wine tourism in Italy linked to the platform and the Vineyards Category. With an offer of over 160 thousand accommodations worldwide, the category has welcomed – since its launch in May 2022 – 500 thousand travelers to Italy in just over a year.

Since it was launched, the number of accommodations within the Vineyards Category in Italy reached 11,500, many of which can be considered accessible in terms of budget. In fact, the average cost of accommodation near a vineyard in Italy is around €170 per night: if we consider that the average number of travelers per trip is between three and four people[6]a stay of this type costs from €40 to €60 on average per person.
Airbnb data also reports that two-person and family trips are more frequent, reaching 65% of total bookings.
