
Taormina. It will be a “Swan Lake” of absolute artistic value, in the adaptation curated by maestro Pietro Gorgone, director of the “Balletto di Sicilia” company, which will be staged on Sunday 24 and Monday 25 September 2023, at 9 pm, in the Teatro Antico of Taormina.
The famous ballet by choreographer Julius Wenzel Reisinger, with music by Tchaikovsky, in this Taormina edition will be performed by Amilcar Gonzalez, Emilia Tommasi and Diego Mulone as well as by a dance troupe made up almost exclusively of young Sicilian artists.
Gonzalez, a Cuban dancer of great talent and considerable experience, in addition to having danced in the main roles of several important ballets, has acquired great notoriety in Italy for having participated as a teacher in the program “Amici” by Maria De Filippi.
Emilia Tommasi is the prima ballerina of the “Balletto di Sicilia” while Diego Mulone is the principal dancer of the dance troupe of the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania. Both young, splendid talents.
Pietro Gorgone for his part has acquired international training with well-known masters, an opera-concert dancer, awarded with multiple prizes and recognitions. He has danced in the largest theaters and opera houses in Europe. His important experience in Naples as Director of the ballet company “Le Streghe” produced several choreographies known to the general public worldwide. He currently directs the “Balletto di Sicilia”.
