There “Cotton Street” it is the economic corridor project between India, the Middle East and Europe, signed in New Delhi on the sidelines of the G20 work which evidently aims to be the alternative to the Chinese Silk Road. A network of railways, ports and energy connections emerged after months of negotiations with the signing of a memorandum.
The free thinker Massimo Scarafia expresses his opinion: “the new cotton route represents a further precious opportunity for our country, with particular regard to Sicily, in a strategic position in the center of the Mediterranean. Once again the favorite destination will be Sicily, with the port of Augusta (already at the center of large investments in the PNRR) leading the list of favorites, together with the Helsinki-Malta corridor through Sicily and Calabria finally united by the construction of a bridge over the strait of Messina, an indispensable link in the same corridor“, he concludes.
