The arrival of the first Pride in Pordenone is very close: on Saturday 10 June, the FVG Pride will arrive in the city for the first time. This is the fourth edition of the event, which this year has an exceptional godmother: Pia Covre, historic activist for the rights of prostitutes and sex workers. Covre is the founder of the Committee for the Civil Rights of Prostitutes (CDCP), an association that just a few days ago animated, together with other Italian realities, the first national congress of sex workers collectives (Sex Workers Speak Out, held in Bologna on 3 June). We owe her the “invention” of red umbrellas as a symbol of the sex workers’ battles for rights. Covre will therefore be the godmother of the event to be held on Saturday 10 June. Before the opening of the Pride Village at Parco Galvani, 2 events are planned which will kick off the Pordenone edition of FVG Pride. “From the OUTSIDE! at Pride, 50 years of LGBTQIA+ rights in Pordenone” will be held on Thursday 8 at the former convent of San Francesco and will retrace the history of LGBTQIA+ activism in the city thanks to the dialogue between long-standing and new-born activists: on one side Bruno Cadamuro and Alfy Follia, on the other Sara Verardo and Sara Pollesel, with moderator Giacomo Deperu, former Pordenone President of Arcigay Friuli. Friday evening instead appointment for the pre-pride party, “Proudenone per FVG Pride: balocchɜ e finocchiɜ”: the now fixed appointment of the Proudenone queer aperitif, which for several months has animated the city every Friday evening, wears new clothes for this circus-themed party, which will be held at the Bar Le Ciaccole in Piazza XX Settembre starting at 19:00. Saturday instead will finally be the big day: the Pride Village will open at 10:00 in Parco Galvani, with gazebos and the participation of the associations that have joined the Pride: Agedo UD, UAAR, Arcigay Friuli, Committee for the Rights of Prostitutes, Cellula Coscioni regional, Fridays For Future Gorizia, UDU, Iris, Alfi Lune, Voce Donna PN, Federludo FVG, ANPI PN, Arcigay Arcobaleno, A Scuola To Know Us, ZerosuTre and Rainbow Parents Network. Rainbow gadgets of all kinds will be available in the Village (including the official FVG Pride 2023 t-shirt and queer pride flags), a make-up stand for children and adults and food and drinks. A gazebo will also be made available for families with small and/or newborn children, managed in collaboration with Il Melograno di Pordenone, and a “white area” gazebo for sensory decompression, set back from the noisier areas. The collection for the march is scheduled at 3.00 pm at Parco Galvani, with the departure of 8 floats from the participating associations: FVG Pride, Progetto Stella Polare, Iris Udine, Tune Fun, ANPI Gorizia, Alfi Lune, Arcigay Friuli and Agedo Udine. The march will cross the main streets of the city with a circular route: Viale Dante, Viale Marconi, Viale XXX Aprile, Corso Garibaldi, Piazza XX Settembre, Viale Martelli and then return to Parco Galvani at approximately 19:00. The procession also includes a sensory decompression zone, with reduced music and the assistance of volunteersɜ.
The closing speeches will be held here and, starting at 20:00, the after party organized by FVG Pride Live will also open, with the collaboration of Arci Cral for food and drinks. The DJ set will be curated by Queer Macete and will last until 11.30pm. Subsequently the party will move to Roveredo in Piano, where a second after party is scheduled from midnight until late at night at the Papi On Disco Club. The dj set in this case will be by Playgirls From Caracas and Protopapa. There is a shuttle bus service from Parco Galvani to Papi On and back at a cost of 3 euros; the ticket can be purchased at the Pride Village (information gazebo) or on site before departure.PRIDE DAY | JUNE 10, 2023 | PLAN
