Ettore Messina, coach EA7 Emporio Armani Milan: “We are facing a team that has been playing at a high level for months and which confirmed its form and confidence by beating Venice in the first round of the playoffs. They have quality shooters, with whom they open the field, and great physicality inside the area with Diop and Stephens. We worked well during the week but now we’re only thinking about Race 1 and immediately giving our best to then try to improve over the course of the series. We expect a difficult semi-final in which we will have to be patient and good at looking for the best shot in attack, limit turnovers and immediately play a great defensive game especially in the transition phase so as not to allow Sassari to play the way they prefer”.
Piero Bucchi, coach Banco di Sardegna Sassari: “We are aware of their strength, we have done a great series with Venice, we will try to do something more than last season, we try to be as competitive as possible, to be able to do our best, top tier players, coach Ettore Messina, we are talking about the top, our personal challenge is to overcome our limits, to go further. If a player or an insider feels satisfied, he makes a big mistake, aware that he is against Milan, he must try to go further, fight, determined, not presumptuous, but with courage and a little cheeky. We can focus on cohesion and on the group, it is obvious that they have the possibility of rotating or making choices depending on the situation”.
