The request for a rapid conclusion of the inspections by the judicial authority in the Monte Galletto tunnel comes from the president of the Liguria Region and the councilor for infrastructures, where an accident involving cables occurred on Wednesday evening. The managing body of the section, Aspi, has made it known that it is ready to restore the viability, once it has obtained the go-ahead from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and that it has provided all the means necessary to carry out the checks by the experts. The Liguria Region hopes for a timely go-ahead from the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the reopening of the tunnel, which is creating heavy traffic inconvenience on the A12, between East Genoa and the connection with the A7 towards Milan. “Obviously it is necessary for the judicial authority to carry out all the necessary checks – declares the president of the Liguria Region – But we ask that they be carried out as quickly as possible, able to take into account the safety of citizens passing through the tunnel but also of traffic, working at every possible moment to get to the reopening of Monte Sperone if the investigations exclude the presence of structural problems”.
