“The Economy of the Sea represents a priority and a novelty: for the first time the Meloni Government wanted to place this issue as a central point in the Government’s action with the consequent powers”. This was stated by the Minister for European Affairs, Cohesion Policies and the Pnrr Raffaele Fitto speaking with a video message at the 2nd national summit on the Economy of the Sea – Blue Forum in Gaeta.
“The strategy – he underlines – must be defined together, making the most of existing resources with a coordinated vision and adapting interventions towards a strategy that represents a great opportunity for our country. Italy assumes a central role, repeatedly reiterated by President Meloni and demonstrated in the various missions for example in North Africa, in the Mediterranean and also has a strategic role in the geopolitical question”.
“We are in an important phase of revision of the Pnrr and the objective – notes Fitto is the coordination of the use of these resources with those of the Development and Cohesion Fund to make the most of this great opportunity given by the strategic role that Italy has. The Government wants to put together an overall strategy on various fronts such as that of infrastructures, for example port infrastructures, which can represent a great opportunity to shift balances and interests in the European context.These issues are Government priorities that will always materialize clearer”.
