With the 61st edition of the Alghero-Scala Piccada, scheduled in Alghero from 31 March to 2 April, the 2023 season kicks off in the Italian Hill Climb Championship of AC Racing Technology, the racing team of brothers Francesco and Maurizio Abate, who has its headquarters in the province of Brescia.

With a truly substantial number of Italian titles behind them – not only in the time trials – AC Racing aims to repeat this year and in this regard will entrust a Mini Cooper in the RSTB1.6 category to Selina Prantl from Bolzano, who already showed in 2022 that she owns a good potential, which guarantees her to be able to fight for the tricolor title. Selina will turn 19 in May and can to all intents and purposes be considered an emerging player on the national competition scene. Rosario Parrino will also be at the start in the province of Sassari with a Cupra Competition TCR, in the year in which an Italian category championship is established.

Returning to the Mini Coopers, Mario Tacchini will race in Sardinia, also with a Mini Cooper RSTB1.6 and there will also be a Sardinian couple, father and son, respectively Giovanni Cucchettu with a Mini RS Cup and Alessio with a Mini Cooper RSTB1.6. The mountain tricolor calendar includes thirteen appointments from north to south of Italy, including the islands.
