The demolition work of a part of the Lido Comunale di Reggio Calabria will finally start tomorrow, now abandoned and in total decay for years.
The works will start from the cabins on the north side and will proceed not only with the demolition of cabins and other now decadent parts of the beach but also with the arrangement of the greenery and this will be possible thanks to the funding of the React Eu which provides for works for just over a million euros.
The news was released this morning by the Gazzetta del Sud. Pedestrian and cycle lanes will be built and the long-running and obsolete lighting will also be rearranged with the creation of stations for recharging electric bikes.
Finally, after so many years, a structure as historic as the Lido Comunale is changing its face, taking on a greener and certainly more modern look. We hope it’s the right time after so many other announcements which, however, had never been followed up. Just in recent days, in fact, the degradation of the Lido Comunale had caused a particular sensation for the photos of the degraded homeless camps, a few meters from the Lungomare and in plain sight for city travelers and tourists.
