Alghero will host the International Active Tourism Exchange in Sardinia for the first time. There Bitas 2023, organized by Prima Idea in collaboration with the BEST (Biking Experience Sardinia Tourism) business network on behalf of the Regional Tourism Department with the support of the Municipality of Alghero, the Alghero Foundation and the Porto Conte Park, will be held from 23 to March 26 next. In recent days, a table was held at Porta Terra which was also attended by all the representatives of the various sectors of the administration involved from an organizational point of view. The important appointment, which will facilitate the meeting between the tourist offer of the area and the national and international demand in the field of active tourism, will be divided into four days. The first day (March 23) will be dedicated to the States General of active tourism, with the Hotel Catalunya which will host various thematic comparisons. The second day (March 24) will instead focus on meetings between regional outdoor operators and national and international tour operators. The chosen location is the Quarterwith a large village that will also be able to count on the spaces of Largo San Francesco and the former fruit and vegetable market and which will remain open on all four days of the Bitas 2023. In-depth analysis, comparisons and workshops dedicated to data on active tourism, parks and open-air itineraries are scheduled. Furthermore, food and wine will find space with the resale of excellent local products. The last two days (March 25 and 26) will be dedicated to three educational tours representing the different segments that make up active tourism: hiking, cycling and nautical tourism. About thirty journalists, bloggers and influencers will go to discover the Alghero area and that of north-west Sardinia. «Bitas represents an important opportunity to promote active tourism, a useful tool for lengthening the tourist season – comments the Tourism Councilor Alessandro Cocco – an opportunity to bring together local operators and tour operators and to explore some issues related to future of this sector. «Bitas is an important appointment and the outdoor activities, thanks above all to the presence of the Porto Conte Park, the Marine Protected Area of Capo Caccia – Isola Piana and the nature trails, with the sporting activities that can be carried out there , find the ideal home in Alghero and in our area – says the mayor Mario Conoci.
