Ferrari team principal, Fred Vasseur, comments on qualifying for the GP in Saudi Arabia. How did qualifying for the Red Team end? Sainz obtained the fifth fastest time (which became fourth due to Leclerc’s penalty) while Leclerc performed almost magic, just over a tenth from Perez. The Monegasque, however, will start twelfth, not far from Verstappen. A result which, however, did not smile on the Monegasque, worried by the large gap with Red Bull.

So what to expect from Ferrari? Vasseur thus spoke to SkySportF1. “Charles always wants to know him more and more, it is one of his characteristics. We have to look at the glass half full: we are about a tenth of Perez. ORra it is essential to focus on the race, because points are made on Sunday. We learned a big lesson in Bahrain. Carlos will start from 4th on the grid, so he will have a good opportunity to attack. In terms of race pace, we are in a good position compared to the previous race: our weekend must be based on this awareness. We had difficulties in the strategic approach itself, not in defining the entire weekend. Obviously we will discuss it with the riders on how they want to manage the race from a strategy point of view, that’s always part of the game.”

”We’ll see what happens, but let’s stay focused on ourselves. It is obvious that it will not be easy to keep Verstappen behind, but the most important thing is to focus on ourselves, we don’t have to think about Max, Perez or anyone else. We have to bring home the result, the points.”
