Sunday 19 March 2023 – Tomorrow, Monday 20 March, at the Hotel Dimora del Monaco in Matera, the Network Bubble‘s Italyin collaboration with the General Directorate of Agricultural Policies of the Basilicata Region, L’Italian Association of Sommeliers Basilicata and with the technical support of the structure Agromarketingorganizes a day dedicated to Lucanian sparkling wines in order to understand the state of the art of the regional system and activate a comparison between the evolution of the same and the national sparkling wine sector.
The meeting/debate between Bubble’s Italia and Spumanti Lucani is aimed at discovering the strengths and weaknesses of the regional system, the hypotheses and tools suitable for its development and the construction of a hypothetical or realistic comparison on the markets and with other areas national and European manufacturers.
An important appointment for the Bubble’s Italia Network given that for years it has been carrying out careful and valorisation work in the national sparkling wine sector, demonstrated by the professional skills made available and by the serious work carried out alongside not only many production realities, but consortia and regions who today are committed to developing the production of bubbles in their territories. We are now reaching the peak of almost a billion bottles of Spumante produced in Italy. These are impressive and unexpected numbers only up to a few years ago, – a note specifies – but which somehow require attention and an assessment of what the future could hold. Bubble’s Italia feels a bit complicit in this growth having been the first to disseminate the sparkling wine culture throughout the country, starting a journey that has now lasted for almost two decades. From this point of view, it also seemed our duty to deal with Basilicata and its sparkling wine sector. The Bubble’s Italia Network today wants to know, understand what is produced in terms of sparkling wine in Basilicata, bringing its knowledge, experience and point of view on what is happening in the regional territories, indicating, with the numbers, the mechanisms and the orientation taken by the markets towards the Italian bubbles. The Bubble’s Italia Network wants to give its contribution, its ideas in order to be able to contribute to a better qualification of the production of “bubbles”, indicating where they would be positioned and what development opportunities they would have. It will be a meeting of collaboration and dialogue. The certain thing is that the “Day of Lucanian effervescence” offers the opportunity to Lucan producers of both Classic Method and Italian Method Spumantes to learn more about Sparkling Wines. The labels presented will also have the opportunity to participate in the selection of the “Ambassadors of the Italian Brindisi 2023” and in the 5th edition of the National Spumantitalia Festival on 4,5,6 June 2023 in Riva del Garda, all initiatives aimed at enhancing Italian bubbles .
