Coach Marco Legovichfrom the press room of the Allianz Dome made his analysis following the defeat of his Pallacanestro Trieste team against Unahotels Reggio-Emilia.
“First of all, compliments are due to Reggio Emilia who snatched a deserved victory, where the only positive note was saving the goal difference at the last gasp.
I take full responsibility for this defeat and for obviously not having prepared the team sufficiently for a match of this type of difficulty.
Without going too far into the numbers, which also lead outside the correct vision of the same, I think we already had a lot of trouble in the first quarter to find a defensive consistency that would allow us to direct the game on what should have been our tracks.
We played a good second quarter conceding only 11 points which gave us the lead at halftime, then taking a break in the third cut our legs.
On communication situations where we had to be absolutely better, we instead took baskets of individual talent, because Senglin really put in important shots in the moments that mattered. We weren’t as accurate and that’s the defeat.”
