It took them just over two minutes to uproot an entire Postamat counter loaded with cash from the post office in Valverde (Catania) in the very central Via Vincenzo Bellini. The gang acted skilfully: a bobcat with a mini-excavator and a van were enough to carry out the coup in the middle of the night. Everything was calculated. The thieves acted so quickly that the police, although alerted, were unable to arrive in time. When they arrived at the scene, the bandits had already disappeared, with the van (on which he had loaded the machine that dispenses cash to account holders) and a support car. The whole scene was filmed with a mobile phone by a local resident and the video quickly went viral in the city’s chat groups.

However, the investigations have begun and the investigators are analyzing all the images available (there are also those of the building’s video surveillance cameras) to try to trace the criminals. It won’t be easy though. The means used will almost certainly be stolen and the members of the gang acted with their faces covered by balaclavas and they were all anonymously dressed in black.
ATM targeted
It is not the first time that the ATM of the Valverde post office has been targeted in these ways, on the contrary. From 2015 to today it would be at least the fifth time that the window has been uprooted and taken away. In addition to the post office, it is mainly users who pay the price, now unable to make withdrawals until the service is restored.
