The news, which those directly involved have already denied and branded as fake news, has nevertheless had an impact on the media and has put the Serbian national team in turmoil, which could make it through to the round of 16 tomorrow against Switzerland. The protagonists of this hot sauce soap? Dusan Vlahovic, second goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic with his wife Ana, but also Nemanja Gudelj, Luka Jovic and his partner Sofija Milosevic. To spread the story of a series of betrayals in the Serbian locker room was Cristian Willaert, a Dutch reporter for ESPN who said what he thinks is the “real” reason why Vlahovic doesn’t take the field. “Dusan had a clandestine relationship with the wife of second goalkeeper Predrag Rajkovic. They were discovered in bed together at the national team retreat in Qatar, which is open to families.” And for this reason, and not for his physical problems (hamstring and adductor) the striker would have been effectively excluded from the group. boom! Because this triangle, according to the ESPN reporter, isn’t even the only one: “Vlahovic is in good company: midfielder Nemanja Gudelj has a secret story with the girlfriend of Fiorentina striker Luka Jovic”. His name? Sofija Milosevic, a Serbian model, who in the past had already been linked to the center forward Adem Ljajic.

But who would have been to spread these malicious rumors? Zorica Radulovic, journalist of one of the most important Serbian news sites, Telegraf.rs, tried to put a face to it. According to the reporter, the fake news would have been spread by the wives of two players who play in their homeland and outside the national team: Rajko Brezancic, defender of Partizan, and Nikola Vujadinovic, midfielder of Cukaricki.
