The proposal regarding the modification of the agreement for the concession of use of the premises located in the municipal building to the Academy of Fine Arts was unanimously approved by those present in the City Council yesterday, July 2. Specifically, these are the spaces of the former meteorological observatory of Foggia.
The measure, the result of the work of city councilor Mario Cagiano, was possible thanks to the active participation in the drafting phase of the text of the student representatives, as well as of the Board of Directors of the Academy, Marco D’Amelio.
With the motion, the Municipality of Foggia and the Administration commit to deliver spaces to better live one’s study experience. “L‘The Academy of Fine Arts of Foggia, together with the Umberto Giordano Conservatory and the University of Foggia, constitutes one of the pillars of the cultural education of our city. Every day, numerous students from outside the city choose Foggia for their studies at the ABA” Cagiano underlined during his speech in the Council, thus highlighting the social and economic importance of this institution.
The deputy secretary of the Democratic Party of Foggia said he was very satisfied with the approval of the text and then added: “This municipal measure responds to the growing need for space of students, providing them with new opportunities to express their talent. It is significant to note how the Academy of Fine Arts of Foggia manages to attract students from the Bat every year, competing with the Academy of Fine Arts of Bari. The update of the existing agreement demonstrates the attention of the municipal administration towards the educational needs of our city, supporting the crucial role of the Academy of Fine Arts in the educational and cultural context.”
