Specifically on the Tyrrhenian coast, very cloudy skies in the morning with light rain. Gradual attenuation of cloudiness during the day until partly cloudy skies in the evening; on the Ionian coast, mostly clear or partly cloudy skies for the entire day, except for the presence of some evening clouds; on the southern coast, mostly clear or partly cloudy skies for the entire day; on the Apennines, a day with variable weather, with more clearings during the afternoon; in the inland areas, a day mostly partly cloudy, except for the presence of scattered clouds in the morning.
Moderate winds from the north-west quadrants rotating to the north-west quadrants. Lower Tyrrhenian Sea and Sicilian Sea very rough; Channel from rough to very rough.
Temperatures dropping
Temperatures are dropping with warm but pleasant values. Maximums expected between 25 and 33 degrees.
31 degrees are expected in Agrigento, 29 in Caltanissetta, 32 in Catania, 25 in Enna, 29 in Messina, 27 in Palermo, 30 in Ragusa, 33 in Syracuse, 25 in Trapani.
In the rest of Italy
North. Very unstable weather conditions will affect the northern regions from the first light of day; the most intense phenomena could be recorded in the eastern sectors, while in the western ones the weather will slowly tend to improve during the morning. In the afternoon the rainy phenomena will continue to concentrate on the Northeast and the Alpine sectors. It will improve everywhere in the evening.
Center and Sardinia. Pressure tends to drop under the blows of a thunderstorm impulse. In the morning, alternating clouds and clearings over all regions; after mid-day the stormy instability will first reach Tuscany, then extend to the rest of the regions as the hours pass; only along the Tyrrhenian coastal sectors will we have some temporary clearings. On Sardinia, strong Mistral.
South and Sicily. Pressure decreasing. After a sunny and dry morning, here with the passing of the hours and especially in the afternoon rains and thunderstorms arrive on most of the peninsular regions. For an improvement in weather conditions we will have to wait for the evening hours. In Sicily we will always have conditions of wide atmospheric stability, with lots of sun.
Thursday, July 4th
A high pressure field embraces Sicily ensuring stable and sunny weather everywhere. Specifically on the Tyrrhenian coast clouds progressively increasing with light rain in the afternoon. Clearing in the evening; on the Ionian coast skies initially slightly or partially cloudy but with cloudiness increasing starting from the afternoon; on the southern coast and inland areas skies mostly clear or slightly cloudy for the entire day; on the Apennines scattered clouds alternating with clearings for the entire day.
Moderate winds from the north-west quadrants. Lower Tyrrhenian Sea from almost calm to very rough; Channel and Sea of Sicily very rough.
North. An anticyclonic figure is advancing towards the northern regions. The day will see somewhat rainy weather conditions in the eastern Alpine and pre-Alpine sectors, with afternoon showers, even intense, in the Dolomites. Elsewhere the weather will remain decidedly more stable, with large clearings for most of the day. Winds that will be from the southern quadrants.
Center and Sardinia. Pressure rising again today. Except for some rain or local thunderstorms in the afternoon in the inland areas and along the Apennine ridge, the day will be marked by stable weather and mostly sunny in most areas. In Sardinia, lots of sun from morning until evening; here the Mistral will blow strongly. Rough seas.
South and Sicily. Residual instability on the southern regions, legacy of a storm impulse in transit towards the east. The day will open with quick rains on Calabria and northern Sicily, then after mid-day the storm instability will be more marked along the mountainous areas of Campania. It will tend to improve everywhere from the evening; sustained winds from the northern quadrants.
