The Pescara native Uncle’s Valentine He started playing again just under a year ago, despite having had previous experience during the initial boom of the game.

But this time it was different: he became passionate about Spin & Go also thanks to his brother and, not long ago, he hit a nice multiplier which he talks about in this interview with Assopoker.

Interview with Valentino Di Zio

AP: Hello Valentino and thank you for being here on Assopoker. Tell us a little about yourself, since it’s your first time landing on our portal.

VDZ: Hello everyone. I’m Valentino Di Zio, I have 35 years old and I live in Pennea town in the province of Pescara, with my partner and our 2 children. Since last month, following the closure of the company where I worked, I have been taking care of exclusively online poker. I am a Poker Magia student/player and am currently playing mostly €20 twisters.

AP: When did you start to develop a passion for poker?

VDZ: As long as I can remember, this game has fascinated me. I remember that my father and his friends, especially during the Christmas period, used to play it very often at our house, and I, with the excuse that I was hungry, would get out of bed and go get a cup of milk so I could watch them play a bit.

So let’s say that I’ve always known classic poker, while as far as Texas Hold’em is concerned I discovered it at the age of 15thanks to a PC video game. For me it was incredibly useful, I learned the rules and dynamics of the game, years before it became popular in Italy.

Spin & Go new stage

So you started with formats that have nothing to do with spin and go, MTT or cash games, I guess.

Yes, it all started from there, from a video game where there was no real money to invest, but you chose a character and you started your career up to winning the WSOP.. Then when I turned 18 I signed up to my first poker room, but above all I started playing live, because that was the period when the first poker associations began to be born, which had the permits to organize live events.

Had you achieved any particular results at the time?

No particularly large wins, since the prize pools at the time were not what they are today, but the percentage of games won compared to the games played was very high. The only relevant live tournament I played was a side event of the Tiger’s Den in Nova GoricaI got close to the final table and won around €1000.

Then at 21 I stopped playing because I opened a restaurant pizzeria live musicand for 3/4 years I didn’t play a single game, and when I tried to re-team I realized that the game had evolved a lot, and I was the one with the least knowledge.

When did you decide to switch to spins?

I decided to go back to playing poker at September of last yearin the summer at work there had started to be some problems, and the company was not doing well, so to avoid being caught unprepared I started looking an alternative source of incomethat could be a second income right away, and then become a valid alternative to a classic job. Luckily, I have a brother who has been playing spin as his first profession for a couple of years, so I asked him for advice and I was convinced to take this path.

The school and the multiplier won by Valentino Di Zio

How did you find out about the poker school you play for today?

It was my brother who advised me to take this path starting from the Poker Magic Academy.

He is not a member of the school, but he directed me here because he thinks it is the best in the country, and he knows several players and coaches who are part of it. I have to say that this is probably the best advice my older brother has ever given me
