However, they are not foreseen guaranteed time slots for regional trains on holidays.
The National Consumers Union (Unc) asks the Strike Guarantor to “verify whether law no. 146 of 1990 has been respected, both with respect to to the 10-day notice requirement expected both with respect to the procedure to be followed”. “The consumers cannot be notified of a strike at the last minuteespecially in a holiday period like this, with a strike right on the weekend,” says Massimiliano Dona, president of the National Consumers Union. And he adds: “It is of little use if those who proclaim the strike notify the company that provides the service if customers are not then informed in a similar manner.”
Travelers who intend to cancel the trip, they can ask for reimbursement starting from the strike declaration:
- until the departure time of the booked train, for Intercity and Frecce trains
- until midnight on the day before the strike itself, for regional trains
- alternatively they can reschedule the journey, under similar transport conditions, as soon as possible, subject to seat availability.
