Morgan acquitted after controversial fight on live TV with Bugo at the Sanremo Festival. The court of Imperia acquitted this morning the singer from Monza Marco Castoldi, aka Morgan, in the defamation trial against Bugo, aka Cristian Bugatti.
“We are very satisfied with the result,” the former Bluvertigo’s lawyer Rossella Gallo, who followed the case together with the lawyer Leonardo Cammarata, tells Adnkronos. “Marco – she continues – was acquitted because the fact does not constitute a crime. The trial concerned facts relating to a series of interviews given by the Monza native following the now famous events of Sanremo 2020, in which the two argued and Bugo left the Ariston stage.
“Morgan’s statements were considered by the judge as criticisms in the artistic musical field – explains the lawyer Gallo – for the way in which Bugatti had organized the cover evening. Bugatti instead wanted to use this trial to bring up the theme of the ‘change of verses’ and bring up the story of the Bugo Morgan case for the purposes of his own promotion, given that he released the album on March 15 and spoke on various broadcasts also bringing up the Imperia trial”.
The lawyers’ satisfaction is great: “We are very satisfied – adds the lawyer -, Marco may have a metaphorical and stressful language but it is authentic. Bugatti on the other hand has certainly not spared himself in these years. Morgan weighs the criticisms well, on the other hand we have a person who has often insulted him by uttering gratuitous and personal insults found everywhere”. In the chat with journalists Morgan expresses his satisfaction: “Today is not my victory – writes the artist – but that of commitment and seriousness. Both because the lawyers have studied in a deep and detailed way and have worked with self-denial, and because trust has been given to the truth, and it has triumphed, as Cioran teaches: the truth in the final instance always triumphs”.
