“no more extensions but real work”

Per i Social Inclusion Interns from Calabria: the situation remains precarious. Despite some extensions and hiring, the employment position of most people remains precarious. The issue has been expressed by Confederal Secretariats of CGIL – CISL – UIL Calabria: “the demonstrations in May and June, with the participation of several hundred workers, have made the trainees’ dispute central, but this is still not enough”.

Enough with subsidies, we need contractualization

“Yesterday a second meeting was held between the Confederal Secretariats of CGIL – CISL – UIL Calabria with President Occhiuto to trace a resolution of the long-standing issue. The union demands that Nidil-Cgil -Felsa-Cisl -UiltempUil have been repeating for months have been strongly supported: no more subsidy extensions but real workthrough a contractualization that recognizes the true nature of the activity carried out by the 4200 interns in the administrations that have hosted them for over a decade now”.

Ad hoc funding for the Tis

Occhiuto’s commitment

“The President has committed to quickly organizing a meeting at the ministry of the Civil Service, responsible for the contractualization methods of the state apparatus, including the local bodies that host the trainees. The Calabria Region, trade unions and Anci will participate in the meetingwhich represents the municipalities that host approximately 90% of the trainees”.

“While waiting for concrete progress and the actions needed to positively conclude the dispute through the contractualization procedures, we hope that the commitments made are translated into effective measures that improve the situation of the trainees and definitively resolve the still unresolved issues” – concludes the note signed by Nidil Cgil Felsa Cisl Uiltemp-Uil.
