Aversa, they finish the exam and find themselves at the cemetery: the reason is touching

The students of the fifth F of a high school in Aversa have finished their final exams, and have decided to meet up at the cemetery. The reason is noble

They finished their final exams, concluding a difficult and formative five-year period, and they decided to celebrate the end of school, meeting in an unusual place. While the vast majority of students are used to finishing their exams and planning their vacations, the graduates of a high school in Aversa decided to end the year meeting in a cemetery. And for a very specific reason.

They wanted to say goodbye for the last time to a person who had been fundamental to their growth. They never forgot her and decided to pay homage to her on the most important day. A moving choice that does credit to the students of a high school in Campania: the Jommelli in Aversa. About two years ago, in December 2020, their Italian and Latin teacher, Michela Ferrante, returned home after participating in a meeting with the parents of her students. Unfortunately, that same evening, the woman, at the age of only 55, died suddenly.

A close relationship, which has never been interrupted

Since that tragic day, her students have never forgotten her, keeping her memory alive in their hearts. Professor Ferrante had left an indelible mark on the lives of her students. So much so that, after passing their final exams, the fifth-grade F class, of which she had taught, gathered at her grave to pay homage. Another teacher at the school, Professor Enza Picone, who teaches philosophy and human sciences, was the spokesperson for this strong bond between the students and their beloved teacher. Professor Picone wanted to immortalize this moment of deep affection and respect, taking a photograph that portrays the group of students, united and compact, in front of the grave of their unforgettable teacher.

“None of my students complained or was surprised by the grade they received, but they all asked me to be there, for the last time with them in silence, with shining eyes, each with their own memory”, Professor Picone remembered. This touching story demonstrates the impact a teacher can have on the lives of his students, remaining in their memory even after his passing. The special bond between Professor Ferrante and her students is an example of how education goes beyond the mere transmission of knowledge, becoming an experience of personal growth and training for the entire school community.

The touching letter in memory of the professor

The students wanted to remember their teacher in a touching letter written at the end of the school year: “We could never forget Professor Ferrante, who with her kindness and light-heartedness brightened our days and who would have cheered for us until the end. It comforts us to think that a part of her is here with us today and that she is listening to us even from afar”.
