Florence, 2 July 2024 – I am 952 thousand passengers transited through the airports of Firenze and Pisa in the month of June. The data, released by Tuscany Airports in a note, highlights that there has been an increase of 15% compared to the same month last year, driven by the growth in the number of commercial passenger flights (+12.2%) and a load factor of scheduled flights equal to 86.2% (+0.4).
It is the first time, Ta explains, that the airport system Tuscan exceeds 4 million passengers (4.1 million) in one semester, from January to June of this year: +14.2% the variation compared to the same period of 2023. As regards the Vespucci airport of Florence, passengers in June were over 357 thousand (+11.3%). International scheduled traffic showed a growth of 15.3%, which offsets the 5.4% decline recorded by domestic traffic. The main destinations served with scheduled flights were Paris, London, Amsterdam, Rome and Zurich. The first half of 2024 closed with 1.6 million passengers (+21.9%).
Referring to Galileo of Pisa passengers in June were 595 thousand, with a +17.4% compared to 12 months ago. Both international traffic (+19.3%) and domestic traffic (+12.4%) showed growth. The main destinations served were London, Tirana, Palermo, Catania and Paris.
