The Carabinieri of the Viterbo and Civitavecchia Companies arrested five people for thefts during a service that saw patrols in uniform and simulated clothing move around the territory. The military of the Operations Section of the operational and radiomobile nucleus of the capital in synergy with their colleagues of the Operations Section of Civitavecchia surprised them in the parking lot of the “Belcolle” hospital, while the latter were busy rummaging through a car that had just been parked by a user of the facility. The five, a twenty-five year old and two thirty year olds from Civitavecchia, a twenty year old from Aprilia and a fifty-one year old from Cerveteri, had forced a window, without realizing that the military were arriving.
A simultaneous search of the rented car parked not far from the arrested persons led to the seizure of gloves and scissors considered useful for the break-in. Following the operations coordinated by the operations centres, the arrested persons were confined in a holding cell, at the disposal of the competent judicial authority, which validated the arrests for all of them. In addition, two of the arrested persons were ordered to remain at home, with the requirement not to leave their home between 8:00 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., while the others were released. This morning, the Viterbo police headquarters issued a repatriation order for all of them to their municipalities of residence and a ban on returning to the municipality of Viterbo for three years.
