“Enough wild boars”. The Piedmontese farmers are saying it loudly, and on Thursday, July 4th, they will take to the streets of Turin with their tractors to denounce the wild boar emergency.

The meeting is at 8:30 pm in Piazza Piemonte, right at the foot of the Region’s skyscraper, where thousands of people are expected, including farmers and breeders from all over Piedmont.

A clear and firm “enough” will be renewed to the governors of the palace, with respect to a situation that has been out of control for some time, and which is causing health, social, economic and environmental problems.

Alongside the President of Coldiretti Piemonte Cristina Brizzolari and the confederal delegate Bruno Rivarossa, there will also be a large representation from Asti led by the President of Coldiretti Asti Monica Monticone and the Director Giovanni Rosso. There will also be a delegation of volunteers from the Association of Relatives and Victims of the Road.

“Wild animals transmit diseases, destroy food production, exterminate crops, besiege fields and cause road accidents, with deaths and injuries; furthermore, they push into urban centers, with dangers for the health and safety of people” recalls President Monticone.

“The situation has gone beyond the safety limit and, in Piedmont, in addition, the spread of Swine Fever is putting the entire pig supply chain at risk” adds Director Rosso.

In Piazza Piemonte, an exhibition of images of the productions devastated by the undisturbed advance of wild boars will also be set up. At the same time, the Coldiretti manifesto containing the requests addressed to the Region will be distributed.
