Felipe Massa’s reaction to Flavio Briatore’s return to the Circus: the Brazilian uses few words to comment on the news.
It didn’t take long to arrive Felipe Massa’s reaction to Flavio Briatore’s return to the Circus. With Motorsport-Total.com, the Brazilian commented in a few words on the sensational news, while providing updates on his case to regain the 2008 World Championship.
Last year, the former Ferrari driver announced that he had undertaken Legal actions against FIA and FOMalso involving the interested parties in the now well-known Crashgate. Briatore, at the time of the facts, was the mastermind behind the scandal.
In Singapore that year, Nelson Piquet Jr.who was driving for the then Renault team, deliberately crashed into a wall to help his teammate Fernando Alonso to achieve an unexpected victory.
During the Safety Car phase, Massa’s pit stop went wrong, and he finished the race outside the points zone. Lewis Hamilton, on the other hand, took third place and this gave him an advantage in the race for the title. The first of seven, which he won in 2008.
Bernie Ecclestoneformer Formula 1 boss, admitted he had been aware of the facts, just like FIA president Max Mosley and race director Charlie Whiting.
Afterwards, the Circus has banned Briatore. Ban later reduced. He has now been called by Ecclestone to take on the role of consultant at Alpine. Ironically, Felipe Massa was prevented from attending as an ambassador due to his legal dispute with F1.
“I’m not saying anything, the news speaks for itself,” comments the former Ferrari driver to Motorsport-Total. “There are many strange things in this world.”
Massa prefers not to talk too much about Briatore and instead provides updates on his case. “There is a very focused and motivated team. Things are progressing. There is nothing else to say for the moment. This is not an issue that can be solved overnight. We believe that what happened to me was not right. It was not right, not only for me, but also for the sport.”
