Five councilors for the Democratic Party, two for the Massari list (although not especially external), one for Europa Verde/Possibile and one for the 5 Star Movement. The scheme seems decided – a 5-2-1-1 – the interpreters of the new council of the mayor of Reggio Emilia, Marco Massari, still need to be chosen, in view of the first City Council that in other cities has already taken place, here it has yet to be called and will probably be for July 9.
Already tomorrow, Wednesday, Massari will present the council, first to the majority, then – at 12:30 – to the press. To stay in the football context, it will be centered on a ‘Pd block’, a natural consequence of the almost 40% obtained by the Dems. Ample space seems to be given to those who ran for the Council starting from the highly voted Lanfranco DeFranco – who will be deputy mayor and should maintain the delegation for housing policies – and Stefania Bondavalliwhich would benefit trade, the historic center and tourism. The outgoing councilor Annalisa Rabitti a Marwa Mahmoud should divide school and welfare, with the former therefore leaving culture, which Massari seems intent on entrusting – in his own share – to Marco Mietto (Photo), 71 years old, son of the former provincial secretaries of the DC in the 1950s and at the end of the 1980s Alfredo Mietto and Carla Corbelli. An intellectual of Catholic origin who later joined the extra-parliamentary left, Mietto wrote about youth cultures in history essays and for newspapers and magazines, including, between 1982 and 1993, Linus. Since the 1990s as a project manager of youth policies he has collaborated with the Municipalities of Biella, Naples and Milan; between 2006 and 2013 he was responsible – for the Department of Youth Policies and Anci – for technical assistance for projects financed by the National Youth Policy Fund. Between 2006 and 2011 he collaborated with the Federal Republic of Bosnia and with the Municipalities of Celic, Lopare, Sapna, Sekovici and Srebrenica.
As the fifth assessor of the Democratic Party, the external candidates are in the running (from the former group leader and city secretary Gianluca Cantergiani to those who are about to finish their mandate in the Region: above all Roberta Mori e Federico Friend), but also David Prandiwho also did very well in the elections and is able to represent the Catholic Democratic area. As Prime Minister, the reconfirmation of Matthew Iori building on the good work done in the recently concluded mandate, which was also appreciated by the opposition.
The green one is also certain of the starting shirt Carlotta Bonvicini – close to getting married, on July 6th in Scandiano, with the mayor Matteo Nasciuti, while for the 5 Star Movement after the general stampede there are no major alternatives in sight Roberto Neulichedlfirst of those elected with as many as… 64 preferences.
The names of the former provincial councilor in the second half of the 1980s are mentioned as Massari’s trusted men Joseph Pezzarossi (who is also being talked about as a possible successor to Ermete Fiaccadori at the helm of the provincial ANPI), of the jurist Elia Minari engaged since the times of Cortocircuito on the issues of legality and the big of cooperation Mark Pedroniwho however could also replace Moris Ferretti as vice-president of Iren at the end of the year.
Per Cosimo Pederzoli of the Left in the Municipality – which by a few votes failed to reach the quorum to enter the Council – the role of “ambassador of peace” should be invented.
Finally, as regards Massari’s staff, the hypothesis of the former mayor of Albinea seems to have faded away. Nico Gilbert as chief of staff (a role also left uncovered in the Province of Reggio after Federico Ferrari has become councilor for Culture in Sassuolo): instead there will be the journalist Diego Oneda who managed the electoral campaign and will leave the press office of the Municipality of Scandiano.
