The situation of crisis at the Tirso plant in Muggia continues to worry the local community and regional institutions. Today, in a meeting in TriesteThe regional councilors Alessia Rosolen and Sergio Emidio Bini they reiterated the need for a respectful and responsible attitude by the company’s owners, underlining the importance of ensuring the continuity of production and employment at the site.

The Tirso crisis and the position of the Region

According to councilors Rosolen and Bini, Tirso has not fulfilled its contractual obligations with Friulia and, consequently, with the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region. Despite the openings proposed to find a solution, the company has ignored these possibilities, further aggravating the situation.

Rosolen and Bini have highlighted that it is a joint commitment is essential to safeguard the Muggia site and related jobs. The Region will continue to urge the Tirso owners to adopt a respectful attitude and not to shy away from their responsibilities towards the workers. “We expect that the proceeds of any extraordinary transactions on assets owned by the group will be used to support Tirso’s financial situation”the two councilors declared.

The president of FriuliFederica Seganti, explained that the regional finance company has started the procedures for the financial and monetary evaluation of the companywith the purpose of individuate a possible new buyer by June 2025. Seganti assured Friulia of maximum commitment to find the best solution for the company and its employees.

Michelangelo Agrusti, president of Confindustria Alto Adriaticostressed the urgency of to know the actions that Tirso’s ownership intends to take to address the crisis. Agrusti also praised Friulia’s work in managing the emergency and underlined the strategic importance of the Muggia production site at a national and European level.
