C.Os.TA Project, six tourist accessibility projects funded

The evaluation phase of the project proposals received in response to the public notice Progetto C.Os.TA, conceived and promoted by the Welfare Department of the Puglia Region, has been concluded with the publication of the final ranking by ARET (Regional Agency for Tourism Puglia Promozione).

Six projects have been admitted to funding, for a total value of €1,314,000.

The purpose of the Notice is to qualify and enhance the territorial system of tourist accessibility, designing a new way of vacationing throughout the region, from the sea to the villages and inland areas.

In fact, hospitable communities create and/or enhance services and activities aimed at people with disabilities to make tourist locations accessible to all, regardless of age, mobility or ability.

The selected projects are aimed at: improving the seaside tourism offer (even beyond the summer season) for people with disabilities; creating concrete opportunities for integration and social and work placement for people with disabilities in the sector related to seaside tourism offer; promoting greater cooperation between local and regional actors to offer integrated and sustainable services based on quality.

The projects, in synergy with regional and local policies and with the involvement of Third Sector Bodies, contribute to the expansion of the opportunities offered by the regional Welfare system, which is configured for the first time as an integrated system.
