Change of command of the Liguria Carabinieri Legion. Division General Maurizio Ferla leaves to Brigadier General Claudio Lunardo. The handover took place this morning at the Carabinieri barracks “Vittorio Veneto”, in the presence of Army Corps General Riccardo Galletta, Interregional Commander “Pastrengo” with jurisdiction over the north-west area. Numerous civil and military authorities took part in the ceremony, including the Prefects of Genoa, Spezia and Imperia, the heads of the Genoese Judiciary and the Mayor of Genoa Bucci.

General Galletta, in thanking the always attentive and enthusiastic work of General Ferla, with whom he has known for forty years, wanted to extend his best wishes for good work to General Lunardo, to whom he recognizes great professional and human qualities.

General Ferla reached the top of the Legion 3 years ago, coming from the CC Command for Environmental Protection, after having held important positions at the General Command of the Arma, having held the command of the First Mobile Brigade in Rome, the Regiment of Marshals and Brigadier Students of Velletri, as well as at the territorial structure as Provincial Commander of Frosinone and Lecce and, as a young officer, in Naples and La Spezia. General Ferla will take on the role of Interregional Deputy Commander “Pogdora” in Rome.

Numerous successes, including operational ones, have been achieved by the Carabinieri in these years under his command: from the numerous investigations into drug trafficking to those into frauds against the elderly, from the capture of the ‘ndrangheta super-fugitive Pasquale Bonavota to the identification of the perpetrators of brutal murders; activities that have been added to the constant capillary control of the territory carried out by the patrols of the Stations and the Radiomobile Unit, which have guaranteed daily proximity to the citizen.
