The Wizz Air Rome Half Marathon 2024 it will be run next October 20th among the streets of the capital.
The new half marathon Rome is organized by RomaOstia and RCS Sports & Events, which renew the collaboration born in 2016 for the most important and attended half marathon in Italy, the RomaOstia Half Marathon.
The presentation took place last 2nd of July at the Ara Pacis Augustae Auditorium, in the presence of the councilor for major events, sports, tourism and fashion Alexander Honoredby Wizz Air CEO József VáradiTitle Sponsor, of the director of La Gazzetta dello Sport of Stefano Barigelli and the CEO of RCS Sports & Events Paul Bellino.
Less than four months from the date, there are already records 10,500 registrationsof which 70% were foreign runners (about 7,400). A surprising result for the organizers, confirming the strength and charm of Rome in the world.
Running the Rome Half Marathon you will be able to breathe the history of the Capital, immersing yourself in its infinite Beauty: the Colosseum, via dei Fori Imperiali, but also piazza del Popolo, piazza Navona, the Baths of Caracalla, the Circus Maximus and the Roman Forum. Thanks to a route that, with its 21.097 kilometers, offers scenic views and the possibility of an excellent time trial, thanks to the many wide roads included in the route.
The Wizz Air Rome Half Marathon It also wants to be an event that is as inclusive as possible. In fact, the half marathon is accompanied by the relay, a running formula that allows runners to divide the route into three fractions of about 7 kilometers each, allowing the less trained to participate in the event and at the same time to be supportive. Participation in the relay, in fact, will only be possible through one of the Non-Profit Organizations (NPO) adhering to the fundraising project, the Rome Half Marathon Charity Program.
In addition to the half marathon and the relay, there is also the non-competitive one of 5 kilometers and the Business Run, This last race will involve many entrepreneurs linked to different economic sectors and areas (craft, commerce, tourism and services, agriculture and industry).
The Rome Half Marathon, in particular, will host the “Italian Half Marathon Entrepreneurs Championship”, an event promoted by the Rome Chamber of Commerce chaired by Lorenzo Tagliavanti and successfully tested in some editions of the RomaOstia Half Marathon up until 2014. The entrepreneurs registered for the Business Run will be included in a special ranking based on the will be assigned the Record of Italian Champion of entrepreneurs and various categories, both in the male and female spheres.
