Everything is ready in Portorož for the start of the European Open Championship of the 420 class, organized in collaboration by JK Pirat, Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano and Club Nautico Triestino Sirena – Tržaški Pomorski Klub Sirena, with the support of the Slovenian Sailing Federation and the International Association of the 420 Class.

Our sailor from Forlì Sofia Titolo, in a crew with Emma Maltese of Circolo Velico Antignano, achieved fifth place overall and third place as a female crew at the Kieler Woche in Germany. Emma and Sofia have thus qualified for the 420 European Championships which will take place from 3 to 9 July in Portorose, Slovenia.. “Certainly – she explains – it is a great satisfaction. It is a journey that began a long time ago and at the beginning of this season I was invited to the Circolo di Antignano, near Livorno. This also represents a great gratification. I am very happy to be able to participate in this adventure”.

The opening ceremony of the event is scheduled for Wednesday 3rd at 7:30 pm, followed by six days of regattas that will end on Tuesday 9th July. As mentioned, 244 crews from 22 countries (including 33 Italians) will start, divided into 61 female crews, 110 male and mixed crews and 73 for the U17 category, for a total of over 800 people expected, including athletes, coaches and companions.
