Metro, bus and funicular strike in Naples on Sunday 7 July: the guaranteed time slots

Public transport strike in Naples on Sunday 7 July 2024. The 4-hour strike proclaimed by Orsa Trasporti

The union has called all workers of the Anm, the Neapolitan Mobility Company owned by the Municipality of Naples, to strike. According to the union, “the negotiations for the renewal of the national contract of bus, tram and rail workers were interrupted at the end of last May. The requests of the employers’ associations – argues Orsa Trasporti – are truly unacceptable, the lack of adequate funding for a sector considered strategic for the green transition, the lack of interest of politics in encouraging the use of public transport, the unresolved safety problems, a penalizing parametric framework, the erosion of inflation on wages in recent years, have led the national secretariat of Orsa trasporti tpl to proclaim the first strike action that in Anm will take place with the following modalities: all staff will strike from 12:00 to 16:00”.

Public transport, therefore, will operate regularly from 7 am to 12 pm and from 4 pm to 10-11 pm, depending on the type of public transport. The strike falls on Sunday, a rather unusual coincidence, considering that it is a holiday and that it will create inconvenience, presumably, especially for the many tourists who are in the city these days to admire its beauties and visit its museums.
