A hidden compartment was discovered in Luca Esposito’s home; the man is being investigated for money laundering from illegal trade and fraud on luxury watches.

A mountain of 50 and 100 euro banknotes, gold and jewels, about fifty luxury watches, diamonds: the estimate is still underway, but for the investigators the value is at least five million euros. The treasure was in a secret safe in the house of Luca Esposito, son-in-law of the boss Patrizio Bosti, among the recipients of the enforcement order of precautionary custody in prison carried out yesterday by the Police, Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza. Everything, of course, under seizure: the suspect is said to have laundered the proceeds of luxury watch sales scams.

The recipients were the boss Patrizio Bosti, believed to be the head of the Secondigliano Alliance clan, his son Ettore, also already detained, his daughter Flora and his son-in-law Luca Esposito. The treasure trove from fake watch scams

The operation was conducted by personnel from the Naples State Police Mobile Squad, the Naples Carabinieri Investigative Unit, the Naples Economic and Financial Police Unit and the SCICO of the Guardia di Finanza. The vault was hidden in the home, in Pozzuoli, on the border with the Agnano area, and protected with iron plates. Technologically advanced tools were used to locate it; in detail, cash worth over 4 million euros, numerous precious items, gold objects, diamonds and 48 luxury watches were seized.

According to the investigative findings, Esposito would have accumulated the treasure with the sale of luxury watches, even of illicit origin, and with scams related to this type of trade; the proceeds would then have been laundered through companies registered to front men and active in the sectors of ferrous waste management, telephony and real estate dedicated to the issuing and use of invoices for persistent transactions.
