The Ravenna Carabinieri arrested a 35-year-old man from Ravenna on charges of aggravated theft, receiving stolen goods, illegal practice of medicine and sale of narcotic substances. The man, already burdened by an oral warning and a Daspo order, employed as a warehouse worker at a pharmaceutical warehouse in the city, since the beginning of 2024 would have been the protagonist, within the workplace, of anomalous behaviors that aroused the suspicion of the employers who, also in consideration of the particularity of the drugs stored in the warehouse, immediately turned to the investigators of the Provincial Command. The classic investigation activity (shadowing, observations) and technical type (including several dedicated cameras to monitor the man), made it possible to clarify numerous episodes in which the suspect stole products of various kinds from the pharmaceutical warehouse to then sell them to third parties. The type of stolen products also determined a differentiation of the various crime titles contested: in reference to the theft of over-the-counter products, the hypothesis of aggravated theft was identified, while for some particularly sensitive drugs (products containing hormones and similar) the crime of transfer of narcotic substances was hypothesized – certain drugs included in the ministerial table on narcotic substances – or of illegal practice of the medical profession, in relation to the absence of medical prescriptions for other medicines first stolen and then sold to third parties. The man had also stolen small sums of money inside the changing room of the warehouse, had sold doses of hashish to some citizens of Ravenna and was also investigated for fraud because he had unduly benefited, in more than 20 circumstances, from the so-called “meal vouchers” provided by the employer.
